Emanuel "Manny" A. Barcellona, 96, a lifelong Newark resident, passed away at home, Tuesday November 27, 2018.
Mr. Barcellona served in the United States Army during World War 2 seeing action in Manila. He was a past president of the American Legion. He was a science teacher for 27 years in Harrison High School, retiring in 1991.
Services will be 10 am Saturday at the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave, Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com). Entombment with military honors will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation is Friday 3-6pm and Saturday 9-10am.

Mr. Barcellona is survived by his daughters Francine Ibranyi and her husband Dr. Gustav Jr., Concetta Papantonio and her husband Anthony, grandchildren Gustav 3rd and Christopher Ibranyi, Anthony Jr. and Tina Marie Papantonio, nephew Vincent Barcellona, niece Diane Werner, great niece Christine, and the Durbin and Sanders Families in Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his wife Frances (nee Yingling), parents Vincenzo and Concetta (nee Alfano), brother Frank and his wife Grace.
