Jerry "Poppy" Scoppettuolo, 85 of Jacksonville Beach, Florida formerly of Bloomfield, NJ passed away Friday August 5, 2011.
Mr. Scoppettuolo was a quality assurance specialist GS-12 at Fort Monmouth for 28 years receiving several awards and commendations, retiring January 1990. He served in the United States Navy during World War 2. He enjoyed singing and dancing. He was an avid sports fan, especially golf, bowling, football and boxing.
Mr. Scoppettuolo is survived by his daughters Gail Scoppettuolo and Judith S. Morris, sister Pauline Kuznier, granddaughter Reverend Tiya, and great grandchildren Carmine and Gabriel, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor "Terry" (nee Lemongello), son Carmine R., parents Carmen and Katie (nee Ziechetella), brothers James and Philip, sisters Virginia Brunetti and Rose Mancinelli.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist in building an Alzheimers Memory Care Unit at the Plantations Oaks Assisted Living Home in High Springs, FL. Payable to Generation 101, 516 South Sea Lake Lane, Ponte Vedra, Fla. 32082, a ministry dedicated to enhancing the lives of the young and our elders.
Funeral Wednesday 8:30 am from the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com). Mass 10 am St. Valentine's Church Bloomfield. Interment Hollywood Memorial Park Union. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
