Josephine "Tootsie" Cordasco, 87, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Tuesday October 29, 2019. Born in Newark, NJ, Ms. Cordasco lived in Belleville, NJ for many years before retiring to Tucson in 2006. Before her retirement, she was the Office Manager for Luxury Floors in Newark for many years.
Josephine was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, who adored her grandchildren, and was affectionately known as “The Naun.” She enjoyed sporting events, going to the movies with friends, playing card games, and solving crossword puzzles. Josephine was an amazingly strong woman, who always put family and friends first, as she was a pillar of great strength, love, and support to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Therese Gallagher and companion Chris Pedoni, Cynthia Armstrong and husband Brian, sons Anthony and Robert Cordasco, sisters Filomena Alviggi and Vincenza Menafro, grandchildren Patrick, Scott, and Chase Gallagher, Brandon and his soon to be bride Jess Jablin and Colin Armstrong, Nicole, Sara Jo, and Christopher Cordasco, as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Augostino and Maria Alviggi, former husband Anthony Cordasco, longtime companion John Delli Santi, grandsons Ryan James Armstrong and Alex Cordasco, and brother Augostino Alviggi.
Visitation is from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Lucy's Church in Newark, followed by interment in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Nauna’s special request is that you come as you are, preferably in jeans. Fancy attire not necessary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
