Louis A. Lamattina, 101, of Newark, N.J., passed away on May 10, 2020. Born and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ, he graduated Lyndhurst High School with the class of 1936. A veteran, he proudly served in the Army Air Corps in England during World War II. An electrician by trade, he worked for many years for Tosone Electric in Montclair, N.J., taking care of many loyal customers throughout the years.
A dedicated family man and avid sports fan, he can often be found pouring over the newspaper. He was long time parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Newark, NJ where he ushered many Sunday mornings.
Louis is pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 64 years Jean, his parents Gennaro and Antoinette (Romano), and his siblings Agnes Fazzio, Dominick, Joseph, Josephine, Nettie DeSantis and Theresa Piazza.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Jeanne Netherwood and her husband Lee, his devoted son Anthony and his husband John, and his cherished granddaughter Adrienne Lane, who was his light and joy. His is also survived by three sisters in law, as well as many, many devoted nieces and nephews and their children who all came together to celebrate Louis’ 100th birthday: one of his cherished memories.
