Raymond "Bob" Giansanti, 89, of Rahway, formerly Belleville, passed away Tuesday evening, December 11, 2018.
Mr. Giansanti served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Before his retirement in 1984, he was employed by the Wilbur B. Driver Co. in Newark as a wire inspector. He was the treasurer for Local 7225 Steel Workers of America for 17 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and watching sports, history, westerns and the music channels on TV.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Theresa (nee Longhi), daughters Michele Colon and her husband Edward, Laura Curran and her husband Kyle, Diane Angelo and her husband William, brother Michael, grandchildren E.J. and Steven Colon, Ryan and Morgan Curran, Lauren Silva, William and Raymond Angelo, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Michele and Rose (nee DeSantis), and brothers Anthony and Gerald.
A memorial visitation is Friday 8:30-10:30 am at the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave, Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com), followed by a memorial mass in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Nutley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
