Robert C. Swineford, 87, of Belleville, passed away Friday June 28, 2013.
Mr. Swineford was employed by the Wilbur B. Driver Company in Newark for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He served in the United States Navy as a cook aboard the USS Captivate during World War 2. He was an avid golfer and scored a hole-in-one at the Cranbury Country Club on September 14, 1989.
Mr. Swineford is survived by his sons Robert A. and his wife Michelle, David E. and his wife Donna, daughter Nancy J. Leardo and her husband Joseph, sister Kay Markert, grandchildren Jason, Lucas, Angela, Michael, Lauren Beth, Nicholas, Joseph, Tracy, great grandchildren Nate, Ella, and Lily. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Naomi (nee Phillips), and sister Joan Aiello.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boystown 499 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ.
Services will be conducted 1 pm Monday at the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com). Entombment will follow in Glendale Cemetery Bloomfield. Visitation is Monday 10 am until the service.
