Obituary

Elizabeth Rose Rilli 88, of Long Beach, CA and Fort Pierce, FL, passed away September 7, 2009, in Fort Piece, FL.

Elizabeth was born August 24, 1921 to the late Frederick and Mary Forte in Raritan, NJ where she was raised along with nine siblings.

She married Edward Rilli in 1945 and had six children. They were married for fifty seven years before Ed passed away in 2002. They raised their first three children in Newark, moved to Florida with the rest of their children and came back to Montvale, NJ. When Elizabeth and Ed retired, they moved to Las Vegas where their home was a welcome place for all family members. In Las Vegas, Elizabeth remained active, working at Kmart for a while and volunteering at a day care center for children with disabilities. She was extremely patient with the children and was able to reach them when others could not. This was one of her favorite jobs that she always remembered when others were forgotten.

Elizabeth loved children and they loved her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved to spend time with her. She went on many "grand" adventures with them, loving every minute. She was a great sport and was always ready to join in the fun even when tired. She was unselfish and generous with her time and resources. She truly lived a life of service.

Elizabeth was a conversationalist who loved people. She was genuinely interested in whoever she was talking to and always helped anyone in trouble. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed. Her illness took away many of her memories, but those memories will live on in her family's hearts.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Spatola and her husband Ed, Sandra Dineley and her husband David, Lisa Goldstein and her husband Bert, sons Edward Rilli, John Rilli, grandchildren Ed Spatola Jr., Jeff Spatola, Mary Ann Blowitz, Lauren Frank, Duane Rilli, Joanne Rilli, Eva Rilli, Ed Rilli, Jr. Stephen Rilli, great grandchildren Ian, Bridget, Lyndsey, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Matthew, Lori Catherine and great great grandchild Rosalie.

Along with her husband Edward and parents,, Elizabeth was predeceased by her son Fred, sisters Catherine and Marion, brothers John, Fred, and Joseph, daughter-in-law Susan, and grand daughter Lori Ann.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Lucie Hospice House, 5090 Dunn Rd. Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.
