Community Involvement

Megaro Memorial Home takes pride in the many community endeavors we are involved in. For more than 80 years, the Megaro Family has been the proud sponsors of many youth and adult athletic teams in Belleville, Nutley, Bloomfield, and Newark. This diverse group has included youth baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, adult softball, basketball, and bowling. Our teams have won over 125 championships and awards. Our trophy and plaque collection is so extensive, it is impossible to display all of the awards at one time.

Some of our youth baseball players during their high school careers have been selected to:

  • New Jersey All-State First Team
  • 2001 Quad Town Player of the Year
  • Essex County First Team
  • 2001 Worrall Communications Player of the Year


In 1951, along with their bother-in-law Dominick A. Cundari (a licensed funeral director and attorney), the Megaro brothers established the Megaro-Cundari Welfare Association in a building overlooking the funeral home parking lot.
